FALL HIKING

Every fall, the Ozark Riverways Foundation supports the ONSR with the fall hiking series. Guided hikes along the Current and Jacks Fork Rivers are scheduled each weekend to some of the out-of-the-way places full of history and scenic beauty. As the color changes high in the mixed white oak and pine forest, below those towering trees the spice bush is turning a bright yellow and the dogwoods a soft red. The paw paws and persimmons are falling to the ground, if you are lucky enough to find them. Come and enjoy the river country, not by water, but by land.   • 4 Mile Hike — Cedar Grove to Susie Nichols Cabin
  • 5 Mile Hike — Owls Bend to Klepzig Mill
  • 4.3 Mile Hike — Chubb Hollow, Lookout, and CCC Trails near Big Spring
  • 1 Mile B.A.R.K. Ranger Hike — Big Spring
  • 4 Mile Hike — Echo Bluff to Current River State Park (one leg of the Current River Challenge)
  • 4.4 Mile Hike — Autumn Color Hike, Devil’s Well to Cave Spring
  • 5 Mile Hike to Honor Veterans — Rocky Falls to Stegall Mountain
  • 1.5 Mile Hike — Prairie Hollow Gorge
